Frank Dammers was born in the Netherlands, in 1951. He has lived in The Hague but has been based in Zwolle for many years. Frank Dammers has a creative and fascinating personality, which, together with a mathematical bent and a drive for perfection, is clearly manifested in his work as an artist. As a result of two several serious car accidents he found himself unable to pursue his original career. It was at this point that he decided to concentrate entirely on painting, spurred on by the many enthusiastic reactions to his previous work, He began to develop an innovative and highly personal style that is regarded by many heralding a new movement within the world of painting.
